Emily Amer
Designer
Emily was born and raised in Brookfield, Missouri, a small town that gave her a deep love for community and connection—something she carries into her work every day. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Interior Design with a minor in Construction Management, which provided both the creative foundation and technical expertise to thrive in the design-build world. Prior to joining Scovell, Emily worked for several years as a Lead Designer for a custom home builder here in town, as well as time spent in Austin, Texas as a project manager.
Outside of work, Emily is a foodie who loves discovering new restaurants, traveling with her fiancé, and getting lost in historic architecture.
What do you love most about your work at Scovell?
The client-focused, people-driven culture. Being part of a team that prioritizes the homeowner’s experience makes creating dream spaces especially rewarding.
Why design + build?
Helping people has always been at the heart of my mission. While medicine wasn’t my calling, design allows me to support people in a different way—by creating spaces that bring comfort, beauty, and joy to everyday life. Design + build is the perfect fit because it seamlessly combines creativity and construction into one collaborative process.
Favorite space to design?
Kitchens will always be my favorite, but I also love designing libraries and dens. There’s something special about a moody, color-drenched space layered with personal touches that reflect a client’s passions.
Design style & favorites
My typical style is warm and timeless, blending vintage and new for a classic, American-inspired look.
