Ricky Hicks
Project Manager

Ricky grew up in Kansas City, where he first fell in love with construction and renovation. At a young age, he followed his dad around to job sites, helping wherever he could - learning different trades and gaining an understanding of the building process throughout high school. He later attended Northwest Missouri State University on a football scholarship, where he studied health. After graduating, he returned to Kansas City and opened a personal training gym. Even then, his passion for remodeling never faded, and eventually, he found his way back into the industry.

He prides himself on being detail-oriented, believing that it’s the little things that make the biggest impact in everything we do.

His daughter, Ricki, is his pride and joy. Watching her grow into an amazing young person each day has been an incredible experience. He’s very close with his family - his mom, Tina Hicks, his older sister Danielle, and his younger brother Darius. Their support means everything to him, and it’s something he deeply cherishes.

Describe how your experience in the field supports this role.

My background as a tradesman and subcontractor in the remodeling industry allows me to see projects from start to finish. Having managed projects in the past, I’m able to bridge the gap between subcontractors and clients, ensuring clear communication and successful outcomes.

Favorite kind of project to work on
My favorite projects to work on are kitchens and bathrooms. These are the spaces where people spend the majority of their time, and I find great meaning in creating environments that homeowners truly love - places where they can unwind after a long day or gather with friends and family to make memories. Designing spaces that are both beautiful and functional, and that positively impact daily life, is what makes this work so rewarding for me.

What I love about working here at Scovell
Project management feels like a natural fit for me because it combines my hands-on construction experience with my love for connecting with people. I enjoy being involved from start to finish, helping turn ideas into finished spaces that clients are excited about. Seeing that transformation - and knowing I played a part in it - is what makes the work so fulfilling.
