Stef Enger

Stef is a Prairie Village native who has always had an eye for aesthetics. After a five year stint in Chicago, she's proud to once again call Kansas City "home." With a degree in Visual Arts, she has held design-minded roles from brand design to personal styling to event planning. Stef has worked in higher education, fashion and technology and found the common threads of creativity and building relationships to be the most energizing. Outside of work, you can find her consulting on style, testing out a new recipe or working on her golf game.

What do you love about your job?

In my role I love that I get to connect with people on such a personal level - in their home where life happens and memories are made. It’s a bonus to be surrounded by design-minded people who are experts in their craft. At the end of the day, what we do is about creating beautiful, functional spaces to enjoy with the people in your life. And as someone who loves to host, that’s what makes my heart sing!

Why design + build?

My favorite thing about Design + Build is how you’re able to develop pricing alongside design and take projects from concept to reality. It’s one thing to put together a beautiful design, but without knowing how much it will cost to build (or who will build it) that investment in design can lead you down a path of disappointment.
