We may not have the most number of beautiful weather days here in Kansas City, but when they come around, we like our clients’ houses to be ready. Outdoor spaces should feel like a natural extension of your home. We design them with the same thoughtful planning and expert craftsmanship we bring to every project. We often bringing in your landscape designer to complete the team.
From patios and covered porches to outdoor kitchens and gathering spaces, we create beautifully integrated outdoor living areas that reflect your home’s style and the way you live.
Screened porches are tricky things. If we’re honest - we put as many in as we take out. The hardest thing about them is they really don’t block your furniture from pollen. Strong summer sun rays? Yes. Mosquitos? Yes. Rain? Mostly. But if you’re hoping to have flawlessly clean outdoor cushions ready for you in your screened porch at all times, you’re going to be disappointed, I’m afraid.
That said, as someone who got married on Jim Scovell’s Mission Hills screened porch, we adore them. And, we think they’re worth a little work to maintain. Our favorite screened porches are decked out with a wet bar and a fireplace. They provide a sense of privacy that a brick patio just isn’t able to replicate. Nothing really beats a thoughtfully curated space to enjoy some fresh air.
